Organisation of the Network

The EUNAAPA network has a flat organisation intended to maximise the interaction between all members. During the EUNAAPA project a framework was developed to secure the existence of EUNAAPA. It describes the organisational structure and the contents of the network. The following parts of the network can be identified:

Members

Everyone working in the field of physical activity and ageing can join the EUNAAPA network (see the members section). The following rules apply to members:

  • Membership is on a personal basis.
  • EUNAAPA Network aims to include members from all European countries.
  • Registered members have access to the members’ area on the website.
  • Membership has to be confirmed every year by members through the EUNAAPA website.
  • There is no fee for becoming a member
  • Members contribute to the network by taking part in activities, organizing meetings etc.

To become a member please fill out the membership form in the members section. You will receive a confirmation from the network. All current members of the EUNAAPA network can be found here.

Steering Committee

For the daily management and lead of the network a Steering Committee (SC) is responsibile. The EUNAAPA Steering Committee (SC) takes care of the dalily management of the network. It's tasks include:

  • securing the network

  • coordinating all Network activities

  • facilitating communication

  • connecting members

  • initiating projects (applications) and activities

The SC has the freedom to take all necessary decisions to facilitate the network. There are five (permanent) members of the SC. The SC can be temporarily enlarged with the project leader for the term of a (major) EUNAAPA related project. There is one chair of the SC which also chairs the Network. Roles are to be decided and divided by the SC members themselves.

The SC has to be confirmed every four years by its members. The current Steering Committee has been confirmed on 29 January 2009 at a project meeting in Luxembourg.

National contacts

In order to facilitate communication within the different countries, and between the SC and the members, National Contacts are appointed by the SC.

International Advisory Board

The members of the EUNAAPA advisory board are eminent key figures in the area of physical activity and health. They support the goals and the vision of EUNAAPA and may give their professional advice at any time and occasion. They are the liaisons between the network and the worldwide professional field. The current members of the advisory board can be found here.

Information on the current members, steering committee, national contacts and the International Advisory Board can be found here.

Evaluation

In order to sustain the network every year the status of the network needs to be monitored. Based on the methods developed and used for the evaluation of the EUNAAPA project the following information can be collected:

Every year monitoring:

  • number of members and guests
  • visits to the website
  • indicators of network process (conferences, publications)

Every two year monitoring:

  • impact on designated target groups

The SC is responsible for the yearly evaluation. At the two-year meeting the SC presents the results on the impact. All  results are to be presented on the website. More details and results of the evaluation can be found here
